Welcome to Skate Greenwich

Skate Greenwich, for anyone who loves quad or inline skating in London, is dedicated to all aspects of skating in Greenwich Park. The site includes a photo and video gallery of skaters spotted in the park, park rules, opening/closing times, weather forecasts for the weekend (always important when skating in London) as well as some beginner's tips and tricks. If you live in east/south east London and don't fancy the trek to Hyde Park, or are just looking for a change of scenery come and check us out at Greenwich Park!

The long wide roads are perfectly surfaced for skating, the atmosphere is great and there are always a few "experts" around to help you out with tips and pointers. There are a good mix of roller skaters, inline skaters and skateboarders of all ages and different skill levels, from all around London, getting some exercise, soaking up some sun and generally having a good time!!

Greenwich Park is also nice when you need a quick break from skating you can take your skates off and chill out on the grass watching other skaters and all the Londoners who flock to the park when the sun is out!

If you have any ideas for the site or would like to post some photos of skaters in Greenwich, please let us know by emailing the Skate-Greenwich team at [email protected].

And remember: keep to the parks rules wherever possible - as one of the best spots for rollerblading in London we definitely don't want to get on the wrong side of the Greenwich Park authorities!!!

Random Tip

Get back on the horse - all skaters fall over once in a while, and beginners tend to fall a bit more than this. This is all part of the learning process and if you have the correct protection and dont go too fast too early on, this can even be a fun aspect of learning to skate. One tip would be that following a fall, never call it a day and go home - try skating a bit more, have another go at what you were attempting if it isn't too difficult. It is important to end the day on a high rather then a low. This makes it easier to motivate yourself to come skate again, and also takes away some of the fear of trying that specific trick again.
